All bookings are subject to the following Terms & Conditions which shall form the contract with MEHTG and the facility-use
Definitions
In these terms & conditions:
“MEHTG” means Mother Earth Hindu Temple Glasgow, Charity Registration Number SC051614.
“facility-user” means, but is not restricted to, the person or persons with whom MEHTG has contracted to hire the premises and who is ultimately responsible for the payment of all charges incurred. If a booking is made on behalf of a facility-user by an authorised person/organisation they (and all its current and future post holders) is/are considered to be the “facility-user” and is/are liable for the terms of any room hire agreement.
“The Premises” refers to any room or facility that is being used by the facility-user and that belongs to MEHTG. Toilet/washroom, car park, cloak room/shoe storage area and kitchen facilities also form part of the premises, although kitchen facilities remain out of bounds for most purposes without prior agreement.
Booking procedure, payment & cancellation
Booking requests must be made online or in liaison with MEHTG administrative team, availability checked and payment of any relevant non-refundable deposits made.
In general, the Temple provides reservations on a first-come-first-serve basis. Still, it reserves the right to deny in the case of Temple-related activities requiring the use of the facility. No reservations are considered confirmed and approved by the Temple or are binding to the Temple unless appropriate payments have been made to the Temple.
About the premises
The rooms dimensions below are indicative only and maximal seated capacity very much depends on the desired layout of the space. Please arrange with the MEHTG team to visit the Mandir and view the halls or rooms in advance of making any bookings.
Our premises consist of (but are not limited to) -
Bhumi Devi Sarva Sampradaya Sanctum Sanctorium - reserved for worship
Shakambhari Devi Rasoi - kitchen for temple use and preparation of vegetarian food, not included in any of the classroom or hall hire options, use only on agreement with MEHTG team
Annapoorna Devi Banquet Hall – 26 × 10m size
Prithvi Devi Youth Room – 18 × 5.5m full capacity (total seated capacity of around 140). This room has a partition in place that can separate it into two separate rooms of 12 × 5.5 m and 6 × 5.5 m respectively. Please note the partition may not be completely sound proof.
Vasundhara Devi Bridal Room – 5× 4.3m size
Classroom 1 – 9.3m × 4m size
Classroom 2 – 3.88 × 4.5m size
Chhoti Ganga – stream running within the periphery of the premises, to be left to nature and to be reserved for ceremonial/symbolic purposes only
Panchamahabhoota grounds – wooded area and parking grounds that surround and form part of the premises, which must be kept clean and litter-free
Our premises are suitable for a variety of functions, including but not restricted to:

Teaching (Yoga Class, Meditation class, Dance class, Mathematics classes, childrens’ classes etc.)

Information on costs and deposit agreements can be provided by the administrative team.
Catering
Only Vegetarian Food is allowed on site – regardless of whether pre-cooked or packaged. No alcohol, meat, egg, or fish products are to be brought into or consumed on the premises.
The caterer and the facility-user must follow our Health & Safety procedures. No gas cylinders are allowed in the kitchen – only our cooking stoves must be used. Electric cookers/ kettles may be used on the kitchen work surfaces with care. Plugs on these must be marked PAT tested and operation is the responsibility and liability of the Caterer.
Gloves, hair nets and aprons must be worn by all those preparing, cooking or serving food. All leftover food must be taken away by the Caterer or facility-user. This must not be left in our bins. Extra charges will be made for this.
Only biodegradable and environmentally friendly plates, cutlery and crockery are to be used.
Cleaning and clearing up after events
Cleaning of any of the premises or facilities used (including the classrooms, halls, kitchen and toilets) after the event is the responsibility of the service user.
Bags for the disposal of used disposable crockery and cutlery must be provided by the service user and all trash and bags of waste taken away by the service user and not left on the premises.
Part of the deposit will be retained (? How much) pending satisfactory inspection of the premises after use.
Public Liability Insurance and other issues
Any organisation or individual booking the facilities at the Mandir must have their own public liability insurance. Mother Earth Hindu Temple Glasgow management will not be liable for any injury or losses in the premises. Similarly, individuals or organisations hiring our MEHTG facilities are responsible for their own PVG and other relevant checks.
Any provision of food items (be it through external catering or preparation of consumables on the premises) must be compliant with relevant public health, health and safety and hygiene standards. Mother Earth Hindu Temple Glasgow is not liable or responsible in any way for individuals or organisations using the facilities and making their own food provisions.
Other Terms & Conditions

The facility-user will comply with all Government and council laws, regulations, fire codes and other ordinances.

The facility-user/sponsor agrees to indemnify and to hold the MEHTG; all its Trustees, Officers, Members, and Employees harmless from and against any losses, damages, costs, expenses, liabilities, claims, demands, and causes of action of any nature whatsoever and from any expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees and for injury to or death of a person(s) or loss of and/or damage to property occurring in a manner directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with the use of the Hindu Temple by the Facility-user/sponsor and the guests of the facility-user/sponsor.

Except where incidental to the program, all other advertising, sale of merchandise, or distribution of printed material is prohibited. No solicitation of any kind is allowed.

Admission charges or collections are prohibited unless prior permission is expressly obtained. Such permission will normally be granted only when proceeds, after necessary expenses, will be used solely for religious, charitable, philanthropic, civic, or other non-commercial or non-personal purposes. The financial statements of receipts and expenditures may be required within seven days of the event.

The facility-user undertakes to enforce and preserve the sanctity of the Temple by preventing shoes and consumption of food in the upper prayer hall.

All decorations must be removed after the function. No items shall be attached to the building property, except masking tape to hang light decorative items to walls, or any modifications made to the building structure, equipment, or grounds. Please do not use duct tape or nails. Any damage caused by this action will be charged to and paid for by the Facility-user/sponsor as determined by MEHTG.

The hiring permission will not be granted to minors. An adult must be present for all activities involving the youth. The adult in charge of the activity will be present during the entire occupancy period. This person will be responsible for the proper use of the facilities and the proper conduct of those in attendance.

Use of the Kitchen is limited to cooking and consuming food on the premises. Food cooked in the Kitchen must be consumed in the Temple. Food cooked in the temple can’t be taken out for consumption.

Alcohol, smoking, or narcotics are STRICTLY PROHIBITED

Non-vegetarian food (including eggs) can NOT be cooked, consumed, or served on the Temple premises.

All garbage must be bagged for disposal and taken away by the facility-user; otherwise, additional cleaning charges may apply. The facility-user must bring about 15 tall –trash bags and after all the clean-up is complete; fresh bags must be installed in all the trash cans.

The premises must be put back in order the way they were handed out for hiring. Utensils in the kitchen, kitchen area, freezer and refrigerator need to be cleaned by facility-user if hiring Kitchen area.

Any tables/chairs you have used should be put back in the storage area.

Kitchen and oilets must be handed back in order the way it was handed before hiring.

If we find any blockage in the toilets after your hire, you will be responsible for the repair

Kitchen Pots, Cups, and Dishes must be cleaned if used.

You will be fully responsible for keeping the toilets clean
-
Children must be kept supervised at all times
-
Lights must be switched off after use
-
During a fire alarm, please assemble in the car park outside the premises
Additional Terms & Conditions for FREE or Discounted facility-users/member-users

Please book your session beforehand. Only one contact person from the group can book the slot each time

Please do not come over without booking, we cannot allocate ad-hock slots
-
Please be prepared to share your slot time with another team.

Do not hand over your slot to another team without prior permission.
-
You are fully responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Hall or areas you use, including the toilets.

If you damage anything, you will have to pay to fix that
-
Please keep the main door closed to reduce the entry of trespassers and retain heat
-
No kitchen access without prior approval
-
Please return the hall in the same condition as you get.

If you are the last one to leave the premises, make sure all the lights are off. The heating is turned off. Lock the premises securely.

Temple events gets first priority. If anything is planned for the Temple, your slot is subject to change

If we find anything out of order, the user may have to pay a fine of up to £50 & repair any damage that occurred
